Big thanks! Toby, Elle, & Napu, Day 34.

by John Huston

We’d like to give a big thank you to all of our supporters, sponsors, and partners. Not only did your efforts go a long way to making New Land 2013 so successful, your personalities and the moments (big and small) we shared with you in large part created our truly wonderful experience.

From those of you who supported us at the inception when the trip was just an idea – to the first sponsor to sign on (Bergans of Norway) – to those who assisted with educational outreach – to all of our friends in Canada, Norway, and the USA who contributed their time, expertise, and hospitality – to the staff of the Eureka Weather Station – to our expedition home-office staff – to our loving families – and to everyone in between we thoroughly enjoyed having you as part of our journey and team…

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of you.

We undertake polar expeditions for various reasons, the challenge, the camaraderie, magic of the high latitudes, but also because we love working with the people we meet along the way.

Bergans of Norway was our Official High Performance Equipment and Clothing Sponsor. Bergans has been making technical clothing and equipment since 1908. Our favorite Bergans items were the Wiglo LT4 Tent, Antarctic Outerwear, Arctic Ocean and Senja Ice Sleeping Bags, Microlight Jacket, Helium Backpacks, and Sastrugi Down Jackets.

Devold was our Official Wool Underwear Sponsor. Hailing from Norway, Devold has been making high performance wool products since 1853. Our favorite Devold pieces were our Mesh Long Underwear, Nordsjø Sweaters, and Alpine Knee Socks.

Back in our offices we are now starting to dig through the mountain of post expedition material and work that has accumulated. Even though our time on the ice seems along way a way already, we get to reconnect with pieces of the trip everyday.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing photos and more expedition snippets. Stay tuned.
