John is an ambassador, trip leader, and safety manger for Chicago Voyagers, an at-risk youth mentorship and wilderness program for teens from low income homes.
Each year Chicago Voyagers takes hundreds of at-risk teens on outdoor experiential adventures that foster healthy relationships and responsible behavior.

Outward Bound
Outward Bound
As an instructor at the Voyageur Outward Bound School John led month-long canoe expeditions for at-risk youth. He wholeheartedly supports the school’s mission to change lives through challenge and discovery. Today John serves as an ambassador for the school and instructs short courses every few years.
Outward Bound delivers wilderness programs using unfamiliar settings as a way for students to experience adventure and challenge and to discover that they can do more than they thought possible.
